Healthcare Market Trends: What's Next?
Emerging trends or technologies point frequently to the types of silicone materials that will be in demand in the future.
We have targeted a few trends we believe will significantly impact how we all do business. Get the latest trends.
Durometer - A Measure of Material Hardness
The property most commonly measured on our elastomer systems is durometer, or
hardness. The test results are based on the penetration of a specific type of
indentor when forced into a material under specified conditions. The hardness
is dependent upon the material's elastic modulus and viscoelastic behavior. A
simple durometer measurement provides valuable insight when evaluating
prototype materials or detecting cure inhibition. NuSil recommends full testing
to determine optimal cure.
Throughout the year, Industry InSight features white papers on the industry's most
relevant topics. Below is a sampling from our library of whitepapers, which may be downloaded in
PDF format by logging in to MyNuSil,
and visiting our whitepapers section.
- Choosing a Silicone Primer/Adhesive System - Discusses the chemistry of silicone adhesives and primers.
- Adhering to Difficult Substrates with Silicone Adhesives
- Accelerating the Cure of Silicone Adhesives
- Low Outgas Silicone Pressure Sensitive Adhesive for Aerospace Applications
- Optical Silicones for Use in Harsh Operating Environments
- Silicone Terms and Definitions
New Developments
Global Distribution, New Packaging Capabilities
NuSil Technology has expanded its roster of distribution resources in Europe and the Middle East by adding
two new representatives to support all of NuSil's product lines. In addition, NuSil has expanded its packaging
capabilities to include size customization and sub-micron filtration. These developments are a direct result of
the company's expansion into a new 70,000 square-foot facility, specifically designed to house its packaging,
warehousing and shipping functions.
